About JASNA (Canada)

JASNA (Canada) includes all of the Canadian regions in JASNA. For tax reasons, our members pay their dues in Canada, in Canadian dollars, but they receive all of the benefits and privileges of JASNA membership.

All JASNA members may participate in their local regional activities (such as book discussions, speakers, film outings, museum visits, celebrations of Jane Austen’s birthday in December, a spring gala or a “Box Hill picnic” in June, etc.), and are invited to attend the three-day Annual General Meeting, usually held in early October and sponsored by a different North American region each year.

JASNA (Canada)’s officers include the President, the Membership Secretary, the Treasurer and the Librarian.

Members also receive JASNA’s excellent publications, including three feature-packed newsletters each year plus an annual peer-reviewed journal, Persuasions, containing articles by leading Austen scholars.

As well, JASNA (Canada) maintains a Library for the use of its members.
